Three-time Olympian-1998, 2002 and 2006… Jay’s 10thplace finish in the Olympic 20K Individual in 2006 solidified his reputation as one of the top biathletes in the world today… 13th place in first-ever Olympic 15k Mass Start… Electrified crowd and created a buzz about US Biathlon at Olympic Games by leading the field for the first leg of the Olympic Relay… Jay now has the three best ever US Olympic Biathlon results, when combined with his 13th place in the 12.5K Pursuit in 2002… 1997 World Junior Biathlon Sprint Champion - the first and only Biathlon World Champion from the USA... 7th place in Ostersund Sprint competition in December2004 was first US Podium finish since 2001 (also by Hakkinen)… Five top 15 finishes in 2005-06 season… Top ranked US biathlete every year since 1998, except 2003 due to illness...
