Midway, UT – U.S. Biathlon is pleased to announce the election of Jake Brown and Leif Nordgren to serve as U.S. Biathlon Athlete Representatives to the Board of Directors. Brown and Nordgren’s four-year term began on July 1, 2026 and will run through June 30, 2030.

Brown, recently retired from competing in March 2026, is a 2022 Olympian and five-time World Championship team member. Nordgren, current member of the VT Army National Guard, is a 3x Olympian (2014, 2018, 2022) and nine-time World Championship team member. Brown will be returning to the Board of Directors as an Athlete Representative after serving from 2018-2022; this will be Nordgren’s first term as Athlete Representative.

“Though I've been out of the athlete community for a little over 4 years, I still feel a strong pull to support both the current high performance athletes as well as the development community of U.S. Biathlon,” said Nordgren. “I have nearly 20 years of involvement with U.S. Biathlon now, and I felt like the Athlete Representative position was a good opportunity to use that experience in a way to support the current athletes in a different way.  I look forward to getting back to being involved with the community that gave me so much as an athlete.”

Brown and Nordgren will join Kelsey Dickinson, Chloe Levins, and Russell Currier as U.S. Biathlon Athlete Representatives. Click HERE to learn more about U.S. Biathlon’s Board of Directors, and click HERE to view U.S. Biathlon’s Athlete Representatives page.
