Strategic Alliance Update

Note from U.S. Biathlon to its membership following the September 9 board meeting:

We want to extend our sincere thanks to our Board of Directors, working groups, members, athletes, staff, and the broader biathlon community for the time and energy invested throughout this process. While we saw the Strategic Operating Alliance with U.S. Ski & Snowboard as a significant opportunity for U.S. Biathlon, the Board has decided to pause consideration of the Alliance at this time. We also want to express our gratitude to our colleagues at U.S. Ski and Snowboard for their commitment to exploring meaningful collaboration.

The conversations and feedback generated throughout this process will inform us as we move forward. This process provided important opportunities to listen, learn, and understand the priorities and concerns of our community. We heard our members, and we value the continued engagement and willingness to participate in these important conversations.

As we look ahead, we are committed to carrying those lessons forward and engaging our members and broader community. We believe the passion and energy demonstrated throughout this process are important to building a stronger future for our sport, and we look forward to continuing that work together.
