U.S. BIATHLON ANNOUNCES 2023/2024 JUNIOR NATIONAL TEAM

New Gloucester, Maine - The United States Biathlon Association released the selected members of the Junior National Team for the upcoming 2023-2024 season.

Van Ledger (Lake Placid, N.Y. / Team Crosscut)

Nathaniel Livingood (Bethel, Maine / JXB & Gould Academy)

Wes Campbell (Park City, UT / Team Soldier Hollow)

Matej Cervenka (Grand Rapids, MN / Mt. Itasca Biathlon)

Thoreson Sheppard (West Yellowstone, MT / Team Altius)

Lexie Madigan (Truckee, CA / Team Crosscut)

Alexandra Rud (Oslo, NOR / Duluth Biathlon)

Virginia Cobb (Westford, Vt. / Ethan Allen Biathlon Club)

 

 

Coach Brian Halligan will oversee the Junior National Team for the 2023/24 season. Halligan is heading into his second season coaching the Junior National Team, serving as assistant coach last season. 

 

"Many of these athletes have been part of the Junior National Team as Youth and I'm looking forward to seeing how they progress as they transition into the Junior category," said Brain Halligan, Junior National Team Coach. “The new additions to the team have shown exceptional dedication to biathlon and have worked hard to earn their place on the team. I am excited to work with this dedicated group and continue our legacy of success at the Junior level.” 

 

“We've had some great results come from our Junior National Team members over the past few seasons, and I look forward to seeing that continue with this group,” said Tim Burke, U.S. Biathlon Director of Athlete Development. “This team is a nice mix of more experienced competitors and some talented up-and-coming athletes. We look forward to providing this group with everything they need to continue improving on the international stage.”
