Officials Resources

US Biathlon currently recognizes three levels of officials - Level 1 & 2, International Referee (IR), and Technical Delegate (TD). USBA hosts regular Level 1 & 2 training for officials around the country. If you are interested in having your club or region host a course, please reach out to sara@usbiathlon.org. International Referees and Technical Delegates are licensed by the International Biathlon Union (IBU). U.S. Biathlon will periodically call for applications from within the Level 1 & 2 pool for those wishing to become IRs. Technical Delegate exams are hosted approximately annually by IBU, and USBA will contact eligible IRs as exams are announced.
