Midway, Utah - U.S. Biathlon is pleased to announce the upcoming 2025-26 domestic events calendar. After a successful 2024-25 season consisting of three National Championship events – youth/junior, masters, and senior – with the intent of maximizing the number of athletes competing for a National Championship title, this season’s schedule will follow the same format, with multiple race opportunities for all age categories.
This upcoming season will feature a National Championship event for each age category throughout the season, culminating in Midway, UT at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center, which will play host to the 2026 U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals, Collegiate Nationals, and Spring Festival March 25-29, 2026. The event will once again welcome all youth, junior, collegiate, para and masters athletes to compete for podium prizes, with senior athletes racing for national titles and prize money.
Host of the 2019 and 2024 IBU World Cups, and future 2029 IBU World Cup and 2034 Olympic Winter Games, Soldier Hollow will play host to two key biathlon events this season. In addition to the 2026 U.S. Biathlon Senior Nationals, Collegiate Nationals, and Spring Festival, it will host the 2025 Fall Festival & International Team Trials on roller skis, an annual event for the venue, which will kick off U.S. Biathlon’s “Road to Antholz”.
“Soldier Hollow is excited to further strengthen its partnership with U.S. Biathlon through an expansion of biathlon programs, camps and competitions,” said Soldier Hollow General Manager Luke Bodensteiner. “Interest in biathlon both nationally and in our local community is growing rapidly and our partnership with U.S. Biathlon is a reflection of that growing interest and energy.”
This year, youth and junior athletes will travel to Lake Placid, NY for the 2025 Youth & Junior Nationals and International Team Trials at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, two-time Olympic venue and future host of IBU Cups 7 and 8 in March 2026. In addition to biathlon racing, athletes have a two-for-one opportunity with the U.S. Cross-Country National Championships taking place in Lake Placid just a few days following the biathlon events.
After a successful 2025 Masters National Championships, where Ariens Nordic Center received incredibly positive feedback from participants, the venue will welcome back the Masters biathlon community in 2026 for the second annual U.S. Biathlon Masters National Championships & Ariens Biathlon Festival, slated for February 13-15, 2026. While Masters athletes will compete for National titles, the event will once again offer open racing to all U.S. Biathlon youth, junior, senior, and para athletes.
“The Ariens Nordic Center was a fantastic venue to host the first U.S. Biathlon Masters Nationals & NorAm Championships,” said Masters Athlete and U.S. Biathlon Masters Advisory Panel Member Hilary Becker. “The courses were challenging but fun and skiable for all masters athletes, the volunteers and staff were amazing hosts, and the indoor venues were perfect to connect with other athletes and friends from around the country before and after each race. We were so grateful to the entire Ariens and Brillion community for their warm hospitality during this event. When we returned home, we shared our experience and hope that our memories will inspire more to join us for this amazing event in 2026.”
“We’re excited to announce the 2024-25 domestic events calendar that provides a variety of race opportunities for our biathlon community throughout the season,” said U.S. Biathlon President & CEO Jack Gierhart. “Thank you to Ariens Nordic Center, Soldier Hollow, and Mt. Van Hoevenberg for hosting this season’s events, we’re grateful for your partnership and the work you’ve put in to raise the standard of racing and build energy and momentum as we continue to grow the sport of biathlon in the U.S. ”
