Joanne Reid (Grand Junction, CO/Colorado Biathlon Club) is headed to her third Olympic Winter Games this February in Milano-Cortina, ITA. The discretionary selection was announced by the U.S. Biathlon International Competition Committee (ICC) following the conclusion of the U.S. Biathlon-run timed trials in Antholz, ITA.

“Joanne has a lot of experience competing at the big events,” said U.S. Biathlon High Performance Director Lowell Bailey. “We are looking forward to watching her compete for Team USA at her third Games in February!”

An NCAA champion cross-country skier at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Reid, 33, transitioned to biathlon in 2015. Making her World Cup debut in 2016, Reid’s nearly decade of biathlon experience includes five World Championships and two Olympics, representing Team USA at the 2018 PyeongChang and 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games. In Beijing, she finished 57th in the individual, 34th in the sprint, 29th in the pursuit, and helped the U.S. women race to an impressive 11th place in the relay alongside Clare Egan, Deedra Irwin, and Susan Dunklee. Four years earlier in PyeongChang, she placed 86th in the sprint, 22nd in the individual, 15th in the mixed relay, and 13th in the women’s relay.

Reid joins Campbell Wright (Wanaka, NZL/Waiorau Nordic Skiing), Deedra Irwin (Pulaski, WI/Army World Class Athlete Program), Margie Freed (Apple Valley, MN/Craftsbury Green Racing Project), Maxime Germain (Chamonix-Mont Blanc, FRA/National Guard Biathlon), Lucinda Anderson (Golden Valley, MN/Team Birkie), Paul Schommer (Appleton, WI/Team Birkie/Ariens Nordic Center), and Sean Doherty (Conway, NH/Army World Class Athlete Program) to round out the 2026 Olympic Biathlon Team.

All selections to the 2026 U.S. Olympic Team are subject to approval by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
