Levins Speeds to IBU Cup Personal Best 9th in Arber Pursuit

Chloe Levins (Rutland, VT/Mansfield Nordic Pro) raced to an IBU Cup personal best ninth place in the women’s 10km pursuit in Arber, GER. A perfect 20 for 20 on the range, Levins jumped 11 positions from bib 20 to cross the line +2:03.6 behind the victorious Marlene Fichtner of Germany.
Fichtner was joined on the podium by teammate Sophia Schneider in second and Amadine Mengin of France in third.
In addition to her perfect shooting, Levins held the 19th overall ski time in the field of 43 and 14th overall range time.
U.S. teammate Jackie Garso (Lake Clear, NY/Craftsbury Green Racing Project) did not start the women’s pursuit.
Earlier in the day, Vaclav Cervenka (Grand Rapids, MN/Army World Class Athlete Program) toed the line for the men’s 12.5km pursuit. Cervenka raced to 32nd, shooting 15 for 20 on the day. Vincent Bonacci (Salt Lake City, UT/Unaffiliated) did not start the men’s pursuit.
The IBU Cup team now heads to Brezno-Osrblie, SVK for IBU Cup 5. Racing will begin on January 14 with the mixed and single mixed relays. Racing can be followed live on the IBU App; click HERE for more information.
