Lars went to his first years of school on skis, competed on weekends and vacations would be centered around skiing. Lars's great grandfather raced in the 1936 Olympics in Garmisch. Mother's uncle was Sarajevo in '84 and grandfather ski jumped in the 1976 Olympics in Innsbruck and was a three-time All American skier at University of Denver. Skiing is a family tradition and Lars wants to follow in this legacy. Outside of the sport of Biathlon, Lars enjoys travel, friends and fly fishing. His favorite athlete is Aksel Lund Svindal who's able to comeback to the top of the World Cup rankings time and time again after injuries.
