Roster for Final Three World Cups Announced

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (Feb. 28, 2022) -- The U.S. Biathlon International Competition Committee has finalized the U.S. roster for the final three IBU World Cup competitions of the season. The roster includes all eight U.S. Olympic Team members who competed in Beijing. The team will compete at IBU World Cup 8 (March 3-6) in Kontiolahti, Finland, IBU World Cup 9 (March 10-13) in Otepaeae, Estonia, and IBU World Cup 10 (March 17-20) in Oslo Holmenkollen, Norway.

Selected for the women’s IBU World Cup team Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Craftsbury Green Racing Project & USBA), Deedra Irwin (Pulaski, Wis./National Guard Biathlon & USBA), Susan Dunklee (Craftsbury, Vt./Craftsbury Green Racing Project & USBA) and Joanne Reid (Grand Junction, Colo.). For Egan and Dunklee who will both be retiring after the season, it will be the final three World Cup races of their careers.

The men’s IBU World Cup team will consist of Paul Schommer (Appleton, Wis./Team Crosscut & USBA), Jake Brown (St. Paul, Minn./Craftsbury Green Racing Project & USBA), Sean Doherty (Center Conway, N.H./National Guard Biathlon & USBA) and Leif Nordgren (Hinesburg, Vt./National Guard Biathlon & USBA), who has also indicated his retirement at seasons end.

Hallie Grossman (South Burlington, Vt./Craftsbury Green Racing Project) and Vasek Cervenka (Grand Rapids, Minn./National Guard Biathlon & USBA) were named as alternates for their respective teams.
