New Gloucester, ME - US Biathlon is pleased to announce the hiring of Emil Bormetti as the new National Team Assistant Coach. Bormetti, a former biathlete, joins US Biathlon after coaching with Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil on the Junior IBU Cup and IBU Cup circuit. Additionally, he has worked as a wax technician at the World Championships and Olympic level. His knowledge of biathlon from both the coaching and technical side are huge assets to US Biathlon.

"We are thrilled to have Emil Bormetti joining the National Team. His enthusiasm and background with a variety of other national programs will be a great addition to the National Team program” said USBA Director of High Performance, Lowell Bailey. “We’re looking forward to getting started with Emil in June!"

While Bormetti is based in Italy, he will hit the ground running with the second National Team camp in Lake Placid starting June 6 and remain in the US to help with camps and daily training in Lake Placid through the beginning of August. Bormetti will be back in the US for the annual October altitude camp in Utah, joining the team as well for their European camp in September and throughout the season on the World Cup and IBU Cup circuits.
