IBU Cup Ends the Season With Obertilliach Double Header

After a three week break from racing, the IBU Cup heads to Obertilliach, Austria for the final two race weekends of the 2023/24 season. The first weekend of the double header will feature a sprint, pursuit, mixed relay and single mixed relay, slated for February 29 - March 02. The following weekend, March 6 - 9, will see individual, sprint and mass start 60 events to wrap up the IBU Cup racing season.


Lina Farra (Heber City, UT/NYSEF), Michaela Keller-Miller (Plymouth, MN/Craftsbury Green Racing Project), Grace Castonguay (Jackson, NH/Ethan Allen Biathlon Club) and Jackie Garso (Lake Clear, NY/Craftsbury Green Racing Project) make up the women’s team racing the first weekend in Obertilliach. Tara Geraghty-Moats (West Fairlee, VT/National Guard Biathlon), racing World Cup 7 in Oslo, Norway, will travel to Obertilliach to join the team for the second race weekend, the last of the IBU Cup season. 


Maxime Germain (Chamonix-Mont Blanc, FRA/National Guard Biathlon), Vaclav Cervenka (Grand Rapids, MN/National Guard Biathlon), Travis Cooper (Kenai, AK/National Guard Biathlon), Luke Brown (St. Paul, MN/Craftsbury Green Racing Project) and Nikolas Burkhart (Olympic Valley, CA/Team Crosscut) make up the men’s team that will race both weekends in Obertilliach.


IBU Cup 7 kicks off tomorrow with the men’s 10km sprint at 4:30 ET/10:30 CET, followed by the women’s 7.5km sprint set to begin at 8:00 ET/2:00 CET. For information on how to watch, visit usbiathlon.org/how-to-watch. Spectator resources can be found at usbiathlon.org/spectator-resources.
