Sarah Konrad, Justin Gold Elected to U.S. Biathlon Board of Directors
Midway, UT - The U.S. Biathlon Association recently announced that Sarah Konrad and Justin Gold were elected to the two open seats on the U.S. Biathlon Board of Directors, both as At-Large Directors. Both candidates were vetted and approved by the Nomination, Governance and Ethics Committee and voted in by U.S. Biathlon membership to bring U.S. Biathlon into compliance with revised bylaws that requires two At-Large Directors. Konrad stood for the election as her seat transitioned from appointed and will serve her position until 2026. Gold ran for the second of the two elected seats and will serve a full term until 2028.
Sarah Konrad
Sarah Konrad first joined the U.S. Biathlon Board of Directors as an athlete representative in 2008 and has remained as an at-large member ever since. She was the first American woman to compete in two sports during one Olympiad: biathlon and Nordic skiing at the Torino Winter Olympic Games in 2006. She has a PhD in geology and works at the University of Wyoming, where she stays active skiing, mountain biking, trail running, and making linocut relief prints.
Justin Gold
Justin Gold is the founder of Justin’s, a Boulder, CO based company that makes high-quality nut butter, organic nut butter cups, and plant-based snacks. From 2022-2023 Justin and his wife, Nancee, took a sabbatical to New Zealand to explore the country, while homeschooling their children Nora (11) and Morrison (9). He also consulted with the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) on go to market strategies for natural product companies looking to distribute in the US. Justin is currently leading new product development and strategy for Rudi’s Organic Bakery, the country’s first nationally distributed organic bakery. Justin graduated from Dickinson College in 2000 with a BA in Environmental Studies and currently resides in Boulder, CO, where he is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying backcountry, resort, hut and Nordic skiing, mountain biking, trail running, backpacking and all around outdoor adventuring.
