Wright Wins Mass Start at 2026 Skidskyttekampen in Stockholm

In a thrilling showcase of biathlon talent at the 2026 Skidskyttekampen event in Stockholm, Sweden, U.S. athletes Campbell Wright and Luci Anderson took on a strong international field. On Monday evening, Wright delivered a dominant performance to take victory in the men’s mass start competition. The fun and fast-paced format of Skidskyttekampen, held in the iconic Stockholm Olympic Stadium, provided a unique competitive stage, blending elite biathlon racing with a lively spectator atmosphere.

Wright’s win in Stockholm was a burst of momentum to carry into the upcoming World Cup in Kontiolahti, FIN. His speed on skis and precision under pressure have made him a standout performer and a fan favorite across biathlon venues around the world.

 “It’s been awesome,” said Wright post-race. “Shooting here makes you feel so free. You can just pull the trigger. I didn’t do much training this past week, so I think I needed to turn on the engine a little bit. So physically and mentally, I think this is a great stop.”

Luci Anderson got her first taste of the speedy format at this year's Skidskyttekampen, needing explosive ski speed and quick, accurate shooting to be competitive. While not taking the top prize in Stockholm, Anderson’s performance against a world-class field highlighted her continued development and potential to turn heads in major international races. 

Both Wright and Anderson will toe the line this week at World Cup 7 in Kontiolahti, FIN.
