Evelyn started skiing at the age of 11 and has competed regionally and nationally since then. She got into biathlon in 2020, at the age of 15, when she heard about the sport at the Birkebeiner in February 2020 and was offered the opportunity to try out a rifle later that spring after COVID had hit. At first it was just an interesting challenge and another opportunity for her to get stronger at skiing, but she quickly began to love the sport. Alongside competing in biathlon, Evelyn also races for the Saint Michael's College Nordic team in Vermont. Her idol/biggest influencer is Jessie Diggins and her favorite venue to compete at is Mt. Itasca in Minnesota.
Outside of biathlon, Evelyn enjoys drawing, baking, learning about the world and learning languages. She also likes to watch hockey and Formula 1. Evelyn has three dogs and is very thankful for her family who are all very supportive of her biathlon career!
