Craftsbury Green Racing Project
Jake was introduced to cross-country skiing by his parents in their Minneapolis backyard at age 3, but it was while training with coach Piotr Bednarski's Go!Training (now Loppet Nordic Racing) summer club that he became obsessed with ski training. At St. Olaf College, Jake competed in cross-country running, Nordic skiing, and track, helping the Oles win the NCAA Championship in cross-country his junior season. After graduating in 2015, Jake joined the Northern Michigan University ski team as a graduate student and finished his NCAA career with a top-5 finish at US Nationals and as an NCAA All-American. Jake was introduced to biathlon in 2015 at the US Biathlon Talent ID Camp. After two years with the US Biathlon development program, he joined the Craftsbury GRP biathlon team in 2018 and lives and trains in Craftsbury, Vermont. Jake has two brothers. His brother Luke is also a biathlete with the Craftsbury Green Racing Project. Jake's favorite venue to race at is Oestersund (SWE).
- He has competed in the NCAA for schools in division 1, 2, and 3
- He was a mascot in the 2011 NCAA March madness basketball tournament. They probably would’ve upset Kentucky had he not been.
- He was a 3-yr starting forward for Team Skyscraper in high school intramural basketball where his outstanding post skills were never fully recognized by the varsity team scouts.
